It's been a long time that i'm not listening to what so called indie music, and since i work in a place where indie rock music play parts again in my life and what so called pitchfork centered shoe-gaze hipster are the writers, and that's one of the basic idea of the magazine itself, which brings me back to my golden college day actually. One of the album that stuck in my head that are played is Oshin by DIIV. The band original name DIVE originated from Nirvana's song "Dive" til they changed it based on original Dive and stuff. But isn't Zachary Cole Smith try to resemble Kurt Cobain in a way? The band is new, formed in 2011. Oshin is their first album for them. The album itself are flowing so well, like a mixtape. Unlike pop album that change from track to track awkwardly. Some awesome track like "How Long Have You Known?" or "Doused", and optimistic opening boost like "(Druun)" and my favourite "Follow".

Honestly i never really into shoe-gaze and dream pop, or whatever you called. Or how-ever, those segmented hipster called it. All i know and this is the way i say it; they sounds 80's, and guess what? shoe-gaze and dream pop are originated on 80's, good god i'm not wrong. And honestly i never really write anything about music so i don't know the right vocabulary to describe the feeling and sound or guitar riff or reverb effect shit stuff you know, whatever, or much reference of the other similar pitchfork bands. All i felt from Oshin is an enjoyment of flowing feeling like surfing, or skateboarding, or bicycling! The feeling like you want move your head left and right while you swinging in the swinging chair. Or umm, skydiving? I mean, well, why don't you just listen to the music yourself with the video below;

I just realize that right at this month pitchfork has released a video from DIIV live performance and they are playing a new song. So this video below is the most recent new song titled "Dust".
